Irma GRRRMA….and Staying Positively Calm

I am frustrated. I am stressed. I am over tired. I am done with this drive even though it has barely begun. I am worried about our new home. Our neighbors, community, and state as a whole. I fear the safety of others. I am afraid of what is to come, not having any control over the outcome. I am doing my very best to stay calm, relaxed, and to continue breathing with ease.

Part of me wants to bitch, scream, cry, freak the F out, complain, and tell everyone who is asking how we are doing and voicing all their worries and concerns to STOP. Please please stop. I am grateful for you reaching out, but what we need right now is PURE POSITIVITY AND PRAYERS. Not more fear and worry. I understand from afar this is pretty scary. But please…

IMAGINE BEING IN IT.

PACKING UP YOUR VALUABLES, BOARDING UP YOUR HOME. AND LEAVING, TO HOPE ONLY FOR THE BEST WHEN YOU RETURN….IF YOU CAN RETURN.

This is intense. I cannot deny it.
This week has been a total roller coaster. Do we stay, or do we go? What is the safest choice for us?
Irma is changing every hour, and the roller-coaster of “unknowns” doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon.

But hanging on to fear and frustration is not going to do any good. For ANY of us.
IN THIS EXACT MOMENT, I have already shifted my thoughts, feelings, and energy. I have chosen to let go of the above fear and stress. It is not serving me.

I am safe. My husband is safe. We have air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, and a car that is taking us away from the storm. We have a safe destination to stay and ride out the coming days.

In each moment we are battling between feeling the stress and fear or being calm, cool, collected, and positive as we continue on this journey into the unknown.

In each moment I have a choice to be grouchy, angry, upset, stressed, and overwhelmed. OR I can choose to do the best I can, and see the positive in all of this. To see it as an adventure.

Isn’t that what every day and every moment of our lives are anyways? Just an adventure into the unknown?

We NEVER know what lies ahead. We can anticipate, and plan, but at the end of the day, all we HAVE is each moment. Each moment is a choice. To breathe, exhale, let it go, and see the good. The other choice is to hang on to the fear and negativity that creates more turmoil in our world.

I am choosing to see the good. To do my best to remain calm. For myself, for my husband, and FOR YOU! Energy is contagious. It is felt EVERYWHERE. The more positivity you can create, the more it will expand and breed more feel good vibes.

The change starts with awareness of your breath, the intention to see things differently, and the willingness to choose what FEELS BETTER. To me, worrying feels terrible. Frustration feels terrible. But those emotions are inevitable sometimes, I am human. We are ALL human.

Allow yourself to feel whatever emotions arise, let them surface, and then breathe them out and let them go. Holding on to them or keeping them pushed down will only make them grow stronger and create more internal chaos.

YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICE IN EACH GIVEN MOMENT.

Allow yourself to CHOOSE what feels the best. Choose to release all that junk and negative shit. Allow yourself to let it go, and find a moment,
JUST ONE MOMENT, RIGHT NOW, OF PEACE, CALM, AND GRATITUDE.
The few moments of peace I have had over the last few days, especially this morning, are miracles. Each moment of peace and calm I have had, even if it was a mere second, was total success. It was meaningful. It mattered. It made a HUGE difference. It prevented me from having any full blown panic attacks or falling into a major depressive episode. These moments have kept me sane and focused on the necessary tasks at hand. They have kept me in the NOW.

YOU HAVE THE CHOICE TO CREATE MINI MIRACLES TOO!

It’s important to take care of yourself every day and to learn new tools so you can better manage your emotional and physical symptoms during times of extremely high stress. And it all starts with awareness, the willingness to see things differently, and to choose how you react.

The more you practice self-care, the easier it gets. The more you practice being aware, the better you are able to deal with life stress, in all of its many forms. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to let those challenging emotions go. To breathe, relax, and be.

In this moment, I choose to do my best. To breathe, relax, and be in the NOW. I choose to see the good, to let go of what I cannot control, to be grateful for all that I have, and to keep the faith that the best is yet to come.

In this moment, I wish the same for you. I intend to inspire and empower you on your journey, wherever you are, right NOW. I invite you to choose moments of self-care, and continue bringing in the awareness towards inner peace, joy, and love IN EACH MOMENT.

Regardless of what is going on in your life, your surroundings, and the world as a whole, do your best to choose LOVE, PEACE, AND POSITIVITY. Each moment is just as important as the next. Each moment is a miracle and something to be grateful for.

BREATHE IN GRACE WITH EASE. JUST BE.

With love, light and gratitude,

Lisa <3
